How to lose weight, its simpler than you think!

I am not going to sell you the quick fix.

I am not going to tell you it is easy.

I am not going to tell you why you got fat, or who to blame.

I am just going to give you a simple guide line to make it happen. To make the body you want to have, used to have start to show up. The reasons why you want to lose weight are yours I do not need to hear them, the end goal is similar to all. Maybe, you are a mother of many children, your life is mucho busy. You do not have the time(you do), the energy, and especially the motivation to do it all by yourself.

I am just going to give you a simple roadmap, a google map for the new people. A very simple one. I will tell you which app will work for you, as long as you use it and pay attention.

The Roadmap

First off I know roadmap is technically not a word. Its two. But you see it takes up less space that way, like you will if you follow the instructions here.

Second, you must know what you are eating, You really must know. You cannot succeed if you do not know. Fat loss is a lot harder to accomplish if you are allowing yourself no accountability. Even more so if you are allowing yourself to go nuts sometimes and eat the fridge the freezer, and then go out for pizza. I have been there)There have been periods of my life where I will eat until I am feeling full, see something I like and put it in my body. I cannot keep going this way for long. I feel disgusting all the time, I feel as though I am a failure, as though I am somehow worth less than others. I am not, it just seems that way to me. The amount of times this has hapenned I cannnot tell you, as I have not counted, but it has a lot.

I am not an expert, officially but have become one from the many times I have failed.  I know that the only times it has worked I have been keeping track, and had hard rules about I was going to eat.

Tracking is essential.

Rules are essential.

Consistency is essential.

And being in a calorie deficit is essential. You must be burning more calories per day than you are bringing in. SIMPLE

The app I use for tracking is  My Fitness Pal. It works for fat loss, as well as weight gain. I like it for myself as I can be honest and see where I am at day to dayy, and month to month, and even where you need to smarten up. It will notifiy you when you are not logging every day and ask you to come back.

Rules. For me when I am wanting to lose lbs. I start with only one or two simple rules. It is easier that way and much simpler.

My main rule. Only 2000 calories per day. I will consistently lose around 2 lbs per week eating this way. When I start I just eat anything I want and log it. The first week or so. To be honest with yourself . It shows you how much you are really putting into that body of yours.

My rule 2000 calories per day, will work for you to lose fat as well if you are a man. If you are a woman eat less. Like 1200 to 1400.

I only weigh once per week no matter how tempting it is to check progress. I

I log even if I ate shitty that day. Tell yourself the truth!

That is three rules total.

Consistency…..

This is the hardest one. It is much easier to go all gung hoe into something. Wanting to make a big difference, and making one at first. The results yo will see are great. But then a bad day creeps up on you. You let it lets be honest. I have let it happen. Too many times. I will get better at it though. This bad day, week month, or year can be very discouraging.

This is when it matters most to log everything. You can look back at you bad day and say holy shit to yourself.I ate 10000 calories. All because X

Having this pattern recognition will help fat loss tremendously.

Being motivated

You won’t be. Probably. You really won’t. Your friends will probably still having fun, with food around. You might need new friends if it is really bad and ingrained in your social circle. (your life depends on it) This sucks to hear.

Here are some ways you can give yourself some extra motivation:

  • Wake up early and read from an accountability blog, ask the people on the forum for motivation. Someone somewhere has been through and succeeded(1 billion English speaking people on the net.)
  • Write a letter to your loved ones, promising them you will be better, and will make the changes necessary . Make it a written promise. It does not need to have a consequence, the breaking of your promise is bad enough. Tell them what you need from them as support.
  • Watch before and after videos of people who started from a similar spot where you are now.
  • Read books that will help you on your journey to success. Give yourself the time you need, schedule it for yourself. Like a doctors appointment, or dentist. You need to do this.
  • Remember you will be around longer to see the things you love, and to take part in life, and make it happen.
  • Write down an affirmation. Write it down many times per day. 15 times 30 times. On your coffee break, whenever you need. Got this from Scott Adams book. It is literally magic!

Now it is not easy but it is simple.

  1. Use a calorie tracking app
  2. Have hard rules. If you break them be honest.
  3. Be consistent, even when it is not fun. Will power is a muscle too!
  4. Keep going when the shit gets shitty. Keep moving forward.
  5. Fill your motivation tank every day.
  6. Move. When you feel down, move. Your body needs input to be happy. Moving is the input it needs.

If you do these simple steps and keep going forward, only will will be able to know who you were last year. You will be a new person next year this time.
